Brewery description
Founded in 1778 near Manchester's Strangeways, Boddingtons became one of the city's famous breweries, famed for its golden, creamy bitter and the slogan Cream of Manchester. Its red-brick complex, chimney and cask ales were landmarks of local drinking culture. Though brewing ended on site in 2005, the Boddingtons name remains tied to Mancunian identity, pub history and a distinctive northern pint.
